Stanford House Guide
Stanford House
The Stanford House is a historic farmhouse turned lodge and meeting space in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. It is centrally located, just a few miles from the nearest highway, a few minutes walk from the Towpath trail, and a short hike to the famous Brandywine Falls!
When not reserved as a meeting space, it becomes a lodge with two stories and nine bedrooms (almost all on the second floor), including 30 beds (with bunk beds) and one accessible bedroom with a private, attached bathroom. Each bed has linens provided (sheets, blankets, and pillows).
It also has two community bathrooms, each with towels and washcloths provided. Each bathroom has two stalls and two showers.
There is also a dining room that seats 30, a spacious living room, and a state-of-the-art self-service kitchen (that includes pots, pans, utensils, etc.). The house comes with wi-fi, heat, and central air conditioning.
For those who want to spend time outside the house, there is a large charcoal family grill (perfect for cookouts) and a giant fire pit (for large gatherings). There is also a large open field next to the fire pit, making it great for family games.
Not only that, but the Stanford House provides access to the towpath trail, stanford trail, and brandywine gorge trail. It is also just a few minutes from Boston Mills.

Alternative Option
The Stanford House is one of two lodging options in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park but is not the only meeting space location. While this is a popular destination, other facilities in the park are more readily available at a cheaper price. My two favorite facilities in the park are:
- Octagon Shelter
- Octagon Shelter is one of Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s most well-known and popular picnic areas. It is a large shelter, holding 50 people indoors with seven indoor picnic tables, perfect for family gatherings, birthday parties, summer camps, trail races, and so much more. In addition to an ample enclosed shelter space, the large outdoor area is perfect for even more guests (up to 100 between indoors and outdoors).
- Ledges Shelter
- Ledges Shelter is Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s most well-known and popular picnic area. It is a large shelter, holding 75 people indoors with eight indoor picnic tables, perfect for family gatherings, birthday parties, summer camps, park events, trail races, and so much more. In addition to an ample enclosed shelter space, the large outdoor area is perfect for even more guests (up to 150 between indoors and outdoors).
