Marina Picnic Shelter

Marina Picnic Shelter is the only shelter in Punderson State Park. While there are seven other picnic areas, this shelter protects against rain, sun, snow, etc. It has 12 picnic tables, perfect for a large family gathering, birthday parties, small summer camps, and much more.

In addition to the ample enclosed shelter space that can hold 75 individuals, there are several charcoal grills (not wood-burning), a bathroom within 50 feet, access to the archery range, and access to the marina for boating and fishing. Due to its accessibility and coverage, it can be used during all 4 seasons.

Families and kids will also love the vast open field space around it, making it perfect for a small football game. There is also access to the sledding hill in the winter.

Alternative Option

The Marina Picnic Shelter can be incredibly popular for fishermen and families in the summer and fall and may already be reserved. Not only that, but it has to be reserved sometimes weeks in advance and does have a fee associated with it.

If you want a picnic area that is not covered but is free and has accessibility to the beach, playground, hiking trails, etc., then check out any of the seven picnic areas throughout the park. They come with all the same amenities but without the crowd.
